Health and commission news (TOS)

Hi to everyone reading my posts on this page! I wanted to share some important announcements regarding personal situations, commissions, and acknowledgments.

A couple of weeks ago, due to stress and anxiety, I suffered a «left anterior intercostal muscle spasm«—in short, a feeling of cold, tension, and intense pain in my chest. At first, I thought it was just a panic or anxiety attack (which I’ve experienced before and know how to handle in those situations). However, after drinking a Kem Xtreme and waiting a while, the sensation worsened considerably. With my last hope, I drank water and took an hour-long nap, hoping it would pass quickly, but it didn’t.

At a medical center, they performed an electrocardiogram, X-ray, and blood tests, which led to the aforementioned diagnosis. I lay on a stretcher for about four hours, unable to move, thinking I was going to die from «working too much» or from enduring immense anguish for so long.

That led me to think about the following: if I were to cease to exist, what would happen to my website and everything I’ve built during this time? It’s comical to read this after being in such a critical state, but that thought did cross my mind. So I came to the following important conclusions, which I decided to share here:

  • a) I will work as long as my body allows. Long-term overwork can kill you: It turns out that stress or death from overwork is real. You can’t eat well, you don’t sleep well, and therefore, you don’t perform well, and it becomes a vicious cycle. Falling into this trap is a recipe for collapse, whether physical, mental, or both.
  • b) If I die, I wouldn’t have a problem updating my Terms of Service (TOS) to clarify that if I disappear or don’t reply to a message for more than a month, I’m probably dead or don’t have access to the account from which the message was sent (I suggest checking other social media platforms to verify). In that case, the client would receive their refund without any issues, as they can file a claim or chargeback if necessary, after confirming that I’m not… physically speaking. (And I’m writing this hoping it never happens, haha).
  • c) Due to some personal issues related to finances, academics, and work, I need to cover my study materials, transportation, and food largely out of my own pocket, so this is one of the few ways I can earn some extra income. I’m still a small-time artist, far from being one of the big names, but I’m motivated to keep learning, meeting people, and growing, seeing how far I can go. Therefore, I receive commissions through both Discord and VGen. I think that next year, because everything has gone up in price in my country, I’ll have to do the same. I always try to keep my illustrations and animations within an acceptable price range for everyone, but I’m also learning little by little to improve and add value to my work.
  • d) I want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported me in the previous fundraisers!
The goals completed thanks to the wonderful people who supported me were the following:

1) Purchase of a tablet.

2) Replacement power supply for my laptop (which unfortunately burned out and therefore needed a new one).

3) Care for one of my kittens (veterinary care completed).

Changing the subject drastically, a couple of months ago I learned to create renders that I’ve really come to love. They consist of painted-style drawings divided into layers, which I learned to move using an old technique with parameters in Vegas. The funny thing is the size of the final file, but that’s a minor detail. Here are a couple of examples! With this new style, I hope to reach more people who enjoy it as much as I do. I don’t have the free time I had when I was younger, but it’s enough to have learned to create these renders «quickly,» in my opinion. Of course, I’m also open to receiving recommendations or comments!

| My next goal is to raise funds to pay the remaining tuition fees for my studies (which I’m having a bit of trouble with) for this year. It’s a considerable amount, so I’ll work as hard as I can.

That’s all the message I wanted to share for now. As always, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING!
